Contemporariness
or Conventions?
Today across the globe, uniforms are the most striking
features of a school, college or an organization. It has been an age-old custom
to go with uniforms. But today in the Twenty-First century the young,
innovative minds challenge the existence of uniforms. Everyone has their own
perceptions and points of views, which may be apt according to them but for
universal acceptance only one thought can be implemented. This is can be
rightly proved by the saying - 'Old is Gold'.
Uniforms are the dignity and identity of a student and his
school. Therefore I strongly believe in the fact that uniforms should be worn.
Just imagine a chilly winter morning in which you've sunken into a deep
slumber, right under your quilt. The alarm failed to function and all of a
sudden you realize that, "OMG!!! I've my school sharply after half an
hour! You jump off your bed like a boomerang and rush through your morning
tasks. You just wear your uniform without a tinge of thought prevailing. But when you're running against the clock,
your head would start to whirl just at the sight of the numerous colorful
clothes. At this movement your heart beats faster and faster and you'll get
baffled as in what to wear. In this case having a uniform is like having a
worthy friend. But on the contrary, a few careful students always would be
highly conscious. They would be good decision makers and would just choose the
casuals as uniforms. They would prepare things beforehand.
As mentioned above, wearing uniforms is not just about
choosing the right thing or reaching the school on time. Uniforms are the
identity of a particular school. Let us imagine another situation. You have
been on a trip and you get separated from your class. You are perplexed and
just don't know what to do. Meanwhile a person sees you in your uniform and
guides you. But when the question comes to handling tuff situations, one should
keep calm and cool, think diplomatically and then find a solution. What could
be a better situation than this to learn patients? So it hardly matters if you
are in your uniforms or not, you simply need your brain working and all will be
well!
Imaginary situations are more
or less accidental. But in practical life the financial status of a person
matter a lot. If schools allow free dress, than not all students would be
wearing the same sort of clothes as all may not be as financially sound. Thus
clearly, partiality and discrimination may seep in, adversely affecting the
poorer lot of students. Uniforms are same for all and this hides the financial
status and prevents the occurrence of other hindrances die to it. Now a days,
uniforms are also no cheap. So, on the contrary, if the same amount is spent on
buying casuals, than it can be worn at school as well as on special occasions.
Thus it becomes more profitable and beneficial for the individuals to be in
free dresses rather than uniforms!
After analyzing all the above
mentioned parameters the picture becomes clear. We can easily deduce the truth
that uniforms are of utmost importance to the school and to the students. The
students are required to respect and wear uniforms.
