Role Play
This
is a conversation between a student and a teacher.
The
teacher and the student meet on the way outside the school after a few years.
Student:
Can you identify me?
Teacher:
It has always been difficult for me to identify my students who have left me as
I have been teaching for quite a few years.
Student:
Remember, Ravi, the one of your favorite student who used to be enthusiastic
for helping teachers?
Teacher:
Oh yes, yes! The one and only inquisitive question box of my class!
Student:
Sir, do you know one thing! Many a times, even today I enjoy my bliss of
solitude simply by remembering our innocent jokes and pranks! What golden days
they were!
Teacher:
Champ, you still gotta go too far, the place where you will be all by yourself.
Ah! this is just a beginning. All too often, the life leaves behind the traces
of enriching and sad movements. I know not where this ubiquitous hush leads to,
but we all get entangled in the maze if life, yet unsure of what worth it is!
Student:
Absolutely true, sir. We tend to deviate from our true goal of life. I always
feel pity, for people who run behind materialistic things in life.
Teacher:
Oh! You seem to have grown up! No more you talk, as you did before. Okay. Tell
me one thing what according to your discretion is the 'True Goal of Life'?
Student:
Amm… I feel that… It should be happiness and love, the two most effective and
touching words of the English dictionary. Each and everything we do coincides
to the ultimate feelings pleasure and satisfaction, isn't it? And love, that's
the basic feeling for every social being like us, no matter for who it is.
Teacher:
Hmmm... You seem to talk quite heavy. But it's true. The world would have
overwhelmed if each one of would have been complacent. Dissatisfaction is the
seed for all the tension and worries. Dissatisfaction, Jealousy and prying are
some of the most prominent and widespread disastrous evils.
Student:
Financial status is one of the greatest barriers, or may be challenge for the
equality in our society. It brings out clear cut distinction between people
amongst the society. Possibly this is the most intricate problem face by us. It
can neither be eliminated, nor be controlled. Customs and inventions like this
have many a times wrenched the earth with blood and will continue to.
Teacher:
You've displayed the mere dismal picture of our society. These man-made
revolutions cum evils have disturbed and left behind humanity. One thing I was
thinking that, if the currencies to each of its citizens equally that to some
extent it may make a change.
Student:
That's something brilliant! Sir, don't you think we shall have a break bow. My
tummy is very desperate, indeed!
Teacher:
That's a good idea. We'll go to the restaurant lying at that end.
Student:
Okay, let's not waste a second. What would you prefer?
Teacher:
The same as you do.
Student:
(while eating) The most we can do is to change ourselves or the ones near to
us.
Teacher:
Exactly, it's after all the thought process that prevails. No thrust can make
even a slightest change, although it could control!
Student:
At times raging a war is the sole requirement cum demand to defeat the tyrants
and maintain the Harmony.
Teacher:
Yes! But remember, war is always bloody, be it out of some cause or aggression.
Although it is an inevitable fact that to defeat demented tyrants one needs to
rage a war!
